WEEK
15 - Day 5
Fashioned into
a living gift of God through Christ
Introduction
As
Jesus extends the word, "I am the light of the world", through the word,
"You are the light of the world", so may we correspondingly extend the
word about the bread of life: "I am the bread of life", "Become bread for
one another". "Bread" is the symbol for everything that a person
needs to sustain life not only earthly/physical life but also inner/spiritual
life. We should be that for one another. In every genuine gift a
person invests a part of himself or herself. In the image of "being-bread-for-one-another"
a giving is intended that shares of oneself, that allows oneself to be
consumed.
