WEEK
7 - Day 1
The danger of
refusing God's invitation
Suggestion:
In
the last weeks we have learned several different methods of meditation
using biblical texts. Too much material presents a danger; therefore,
I want to make a suggestion here that comes from experience.
Please do not take too much time, or any time, deciding on the method you
want to use for this or that text. This is a favorite way the Tempter
uses to gain access by preventing us from praying or at least robbing us
of precious prayer time. Each method can serve as an entrance because
"the soul is healthy enough to find in every text and method a point of
entry which can provide what is needed for the soul at that moment." (Willi
Lambert) . Whoever has difficulty in selecting a method should
decide the way to begin during the initial reading of the exercise
material and not during the actual meditation time

parable unfolds its own dynamic when we allow meditation to begin...

Hymn
meditation
"Come,
proclaim it
Come,
shout it out in every house!
God
invites us, Come
God,
to deny your voice, would be our death.
Therefore,
help us recognize your generous offer."
